Boonex has been working hard on the new release of Dolphin v7 as they’ve not only ramped up the user interface but also the premium to buy a license or licenses for this open source solution. For a developer, it’s nice that the code is still open rather than the many encoded versions out in the market-place.
We have been developing mods for Boonex for quite some time and when we first took a look at the new release we were impressed with the new front end layout and design. However, the backend….for a non-developer the HTML block is not user friendly in our opinion.
1. The size of the code area is designed for midgets.
2. You can only hard-code this section, not user friendly for newbies or non-technical clients.
3. Not only have we added the CKEditor to the HTML_Block but also it will replace anywhere that the TinyMce editor was in D7, so be it news, articles, groups, events the new editor will be CKEditor.
Update June 23 2010:
CKEditor Mod works with D7.0.2 as well.
UPDATE: 14 May 2010:
CKEditor Upgraded for version 7.0.1.

So we’ve developed a mod just for this purpose and you can watch the video tutorial here:
